Purrs & Tales

Purrs & Tales is a unique summer reading program where kids practice reading aloud to our adoptable cats and kittens—helping to build confidence in a non-judgmental environment.

This fun program allows kids to improve their reading skills while bonding with our adorable adoptable animals. It’s a rewarding experience for everyone!

Who can participate?

Children ages 5-12 are welcome! A parent or guardian (21+) must remain present at all times. To ensure an optimal experience, each time slot is limited to 8 readers, each reading to their own cat/kitten.

Important Information:

• Reading Materials: Bring your own books or borrow from our “library.” Please return all materials at the end of the session.
• Parent/Guardian Requirement: A parent or guardian must stay with the child. (If there’s a cat allergy, they can wait outside the cat room.)
• Volunteer Application: All participants must complete a volunteer application and attend a brief training before starting.
