Planned Giving – Happy Tails

Securing your Pets Future

The Happy Tails Program offers peace of mind to pet parents by ensuring that your beloved companions will find a loving home if you can no longer care for them due to injury, illness, or passing.

How it Works

By enrolling your pets in the Happy Tails Program, you can rest assured that if the unexpected happens, the Humane Society of North Central Florida (HSNCF) will step in to provide care and find a suitable, permanent home for your furry friends.

Here’s how we make this process personalized and stress-free:

  • Complete a detailed adoption questionnaire that shares your pet’s personality, favorite toys, treats, games, and care preferences.
  • Upon enrollment, HSNCF guarantees to accept your dog or cat and place them in a loving forever home that honors their unique needs and routines.

Enrollment Options

Pre-Payment: Pet owners complete the Happy Tails application materials and create an adoption file for the specific pet. The donation required is $1,500 for each cat and $2,000 for each dog.

Deferred Payment: Pet owners who have life insurance, but who would like to defer payment, can set up their estate to distribute funds upon their passing. The pet owner must have an attorney handling the distribution. The donation required is $2,000 for cats and $2,500 for dogs.

Titi, a 10-year-old Labrador mix, came to the Humane Society of North Central Florida through the Happy Tails Program after her owner entered hospice care. Following a medical evaluation, she was placed in foster care and soon found a loving forever home.
